Q: If someone needs to call me back, how long will that take?
A: All Toronto organizations have agreed to return your call within 2-3 working days. If your need is more immediate, let the person you’ve contacted know.

Q: What if I don’t hear back?
A: Call the same person back, as they may not have been able to contact you.

Q: What if I need service from more than one organization?
A: It is very common to receive a variety of services from a variety of agencies. Linking you to an organization is meant to make life simpler for you. It does not limit your ability to choose.

Q: If I decide I want to be connected to a different organization?
A: You have the choice of which organization you want to be connected to and you can change to another agency if you wish.

Q: Once I’m connected, do I get service right away?
A: Access to most services may not be possible right away. It is also possible that there might not be a service available to meet your needs. Some services, such as Respite or Family Supports, may be more readily available. Services such as placement in a highly supported work environment or a Group Home will take a much longer time.

Q: Can someone help me find social recreation programs for my son?
A: A recreation listing of integrated and specialized activities is available through agency offering community supports

Q: Who do I call to discuss future planning for my daughter when she leaves school?
A: First time callers to the adult sector are eligible for a consultation visit with a staff person, to explain the services and supports available, and to assist with accessing them.

Q: What financial programs are available for my 18 year old daughter?
A: Adults 18 yrs and older may be eligible for the Special Services at Home and Ontario Disability Support Programs available from the Ministry of Community and Social Services. Other funding sources can be investigated.

Q: My son needs an assessment to qualify for the Ontario Disability Support Program(ODSP). Where can I get this?
A: Surrey Place Centre offers a range of assessments, including those required to determine eligibility for Ministry of Community and Social Services funded programs
